This new venture is set in north Devon, & is a spin-off from the highly popular & successful 'County Gate'. The layout's proprietor is so pleased with our work, that we have now been appointed to line & weather all new additions to their locomotive fleet. Look out for the saddle tank in a forthcoming edition of 'Railway Modeller'. 18th January 2012 - New moulds E1/D1 New mould now running from 15/1/12. Kit now freely available   Q class New improved mould ready for work from 24/1/12   Crosti 9F New improved mould now running from 15/1/12   Stanier Mogul New mould ready for work from 24/1/12   LNER B17/5 New mould now in service, 15/1/12 New kits under development We are currently working on a number of patterns, the most advanced of which are;-….. LBSCR /SR /BR ‘J’ class 4-6-2T. There were two only of these magnificent tank locomotives, one with inside Stephenson valve-gear, the other with outside Walshaert’s gear. Both operated some of the Brighton line’s crack expresses in their early years, gradually being relegated to less glamorous roles, & ending their working lives at Tunbridge Wells West shed, in early BR times. This kit will be designed to fit on the Hornby ‘B12’ chassis, & will feature alternative cabs, chimneys & domes. LNER/BR ‘Claud Hamilton’ 4-4-0 Representing this class as rebuilt with ‘D&J’ round-topped boiler & plain footplate, (This being the most common type to make it into BR livery). This kit, for the loco body only, will be based upon the Hornby ‘2P’ chassis. Initially, this will be the tender-driven variety until we can examine the forthcoming motorised version & see if it fits.. (Alternatively, use an etched chassis kit from our friends at Comet Models) You will need a Hornby ‘B12’ tender, plus a short-wheelbase tender-drive unit from a ‘Compound’ or ‘Patriot’… LTSR/MR/LMS/BR ‘51’ class 4-4-2 & ‘69’ class 0-6-2 ‘Tilbury Tanks’ Designed by Thomas Whitelegg, these locos had somewhat differing histories, most of the 4-4-2’s eventually migrating to Nottinghamshire, (one was even tried on the Somerset & Dorset line), while the 0-6-2’s spent their lives mostly operating freight services on the line for which they were built. It is intended to release both of these kits simultaneously, as they will share many components in common. These may have to be produced with dedicated chassis kits, unless a reasonably accurate ready-to-run substitute comes along in the meantime. We plan to supply alternative smokebox doors & other boiler fittings to enable most periods to be modelled.
